Scrivere è come musica
As writers, we all want to be read and published. For the most part, gatekeepers to these goals remain. And to get through the big iron doors we must satisfy those guards who hold the key.
But if we believe, like I do, that writing is music and that music, to be truly memorable and meaningful must come from the heart, the deep-down soul of the creator and not from what some gatekeeper believes is the right arrangement of our tune, then our stories should be created the same way great songwriters write.
The songs that last, that hit us hard in the center of the heart, the songs that last forever in our beings come from somewhere quite deep. The same way great music is created. Minor key? Maybe. Major key? Why not? How about changing keys? How about changing time signatures? A waltz to a tango? Again, why the hell not?
