Il linguaggio delle GIF
Si pronuncia gif e non ghif, mi raccomando.
We text GIFs because of Julie Logan. Her work pioneered the use of GIFs as a language, enriching texts and tweets with a touch of personality and feeling. In this lively talk, she explains why the GIF is so powerful and shares a few tips for using them well.
Who is Julieee Logan? You text GIFs bc of me.
I’ve snuck onto an Indonesian spy plane & spent a World Cup with Team USA. I founded/sold a company in my 20s. Spent a weekend in a “Real World” style Nike Running campaign. Was called the “queen glitter bomb” in Wired, but these days I prefer sparkly human GIF ◡̈ I spent the last few years rebranding low-fi loops on the internet into a global cultural phenomenon.
The GIFs I’ve created have been seen more than a billion times and used by everyone from my mom to Janelle Monae (who just used one of my stickers on IG and hello, I’m dead now). I make .jpgs .gifs and .movs for myself, my friends, and clients like these: julieeelogan.com/clients. You can find me on the social media as @julieeelogan.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community
